The City of Catral already has a winning bidder to change 518 conventional luminaires for other LED technology.
The action will take place in January 2020. The new luminaires will be equipped with drivers that will regulate their luminous level and the on and off schedule, which will save more than 302,821kw / year, equivalent to more than 40,200. € / year and a reduction of CO2 emissions of 116,586kg CO2 / year. Fulfilling the object marked by the European Union and the Covenant of Mayors signed for the 2020 objective.
The new luminaires will be installed in the Valencian, Purísima, Lucas Magro, Azorín, Avenida de la Constitución, Óscar Esplá, Valencia, Bernabé Ferrandez, San Joaquín streets and up to 72 streets of the municipality.
This substitution has been promoted by the Department of Urban Planning and will be carried out thanks to a subsidized loan with 149,634 euros and a subsidy of 74,817 euros, both from the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE) .This action is co-financed by the European Union through the FEDER Operational Program of the Valencian Community 2014-2020.

In order to contribute to the recognition, protection and dissemination of the rich Historical and Cultural Heritage of the town of Catral, and to make it known to all Catralenses, on the second floor of the Municipal Library -in the entrance hall- is located said exhibition space.
In this space a selection of archaeological, ethnological and bibliographic pieces are shown, as well as archival documents and musical scores from different eras, all interrelated with the evolution of our local history.
